Chemistry is the study of the composition, properties and uses of matter. It probes into the principles governing the changes that matter undergoes. Chemistry may be divided into three branches namely:
- Inorganic chemistry: This deals with the study of non-living matter in our environment.
- Organic chemistry: It deals with the study of matter found in living things, both plants and animals.
- Physical chemistry: It deals with the study of energy changes in the transformation of matter.
Chemistry is a science subject that is why it makes use of the scientific methods of enquiry to find solution to its problems. These scientific methods of enquiry include: observation, experimentation, hypothesis, theory, law, conclusion etc.
