There are two major types of technology, namely:
- Developed Technology: This is the type of technology that makes use of modern methods and application of science to solve problems. Examples, modern building like bungalows, duplex, mansions and sky scraper. Cold rooms, refrigerators freezers and use of cans are the current standard means of food preservation. Airplanes, cars, lorries, ships and motor cycles for travelling. Mobile phones, fax machines, telephones, computers and E-mail in the area of communication, etc.




- Under-Developed Technology: This type of technology is the application of indigenous or traditional technology to provide for one’s needs. It is the type of technology operated in the olden days, using crude methods to do things. E.g. trekking, use of donkeys and horses for transportation. Oral message, letter writing, use of gong, smoke signal, whistling and drawing of diagram for communication. Use of animals, hoes and cutlasses for farm work. Stone grinders to grind food stuffs. Use of salt to preserve food and drying food in the sun, etc.
