Transfer of Energy

Energy transfer is the process by which energy produced by a source is transferred to where it is used. Example is the solar energy produced by the sun that is 149.6 million km, (approximately 150 million kilometres, or 93 million miles) away from the earth. The solar energy is transferred to the earth by radiation.

The electricity generated at kanji dam in New Buss, Niger State has to be transferred to other parts of Nigeria, through the national grid for use. The national grid is a system of high-tension transmission lines (33kv) from the electricity station to sub-stations from where it is distributed along 450v street lines to individual houses at 240v.
