Summary of Machine Motions (Rotary)
Rotary motion is a motion in circle, around an axis or axle.
The two types of rotary motion are: one-way rotary motion and reversible rotary motion.
Application of rotary motion are seen in Drive shafts on cars, Winches, Gearbox, Clutches, and Torque wrenches and socket wrenches
Rotary motion can be controlled through devices like brake, clutch, and rachet.
Types of car engines discussed in this book are front- engine rear-wheel drive, front-engine front wheel drive, rear-engine rear-wheel drive, and front-engine 4-wheel drive.
It is often necessary in machines to convert linear motion to rotary motion or the other way round.
