Summary of Scale and Scale Drawing

Meter Rule is a flat measuring device used to measure the length, height or width of an object.

Scale drawing can be defined as the accurate representation of objects in a determined proportion. When an object is drawn to scale, all its dimensions are in proportion. The scale of a drawing is a ratio.

Scale = length of drawing to real length of the object. A full-scale drawing has a scale or ratio of 1:1.

The principles for measuring and comparing dimensions using the meter rule have been discussed in this chapter.

Metric rule and scale rule are the materials used for scale drawing.
