SUMMARY OF WOODWORK MACHINES
Woodwork machines are specially designed machines used for wood operations in furniture work. There are two basic classes of wood working machines in use, they are:
1. Portable Power Hand Tool Machines (Electrically powered)
2. Stationary / Heavy Woodwork Machines.
Portable Power Hand Tool Machines include: hand drill, belt sander, circular saw, saber saw, nailing gun, mitre saw, and fret saw. The uses of these machines have been fully discussed in this chapter.
Stationary / Heavy Woodwork Machines are those machines that are fixed to the floor in engineering workshops, since they are stationary in nature. They include: circular sawing machine, band sawing machine, thicknessing machine, surface planer, drill press and wood lathe.
