Maintenance is the process or art of caring for an equipment so as to avoid damage and accident.
The three basic types of maintenance are Preventive maintenance, Corrective maintenance and Predictive maintenance
Preventive maintenance is a routine maintenance carried out on an equipment to avoid any breakdown or damage to the equipment.
Corrective maintenance is the type of maintenance carried out when a breakdown to an equipment is experienced.
Predictive maintenance is a type of maintenance that is taken care of at the design stage of the equipment. It is done to examine the likelihood of a breakdown and it helps one to decide if equipment needs to be serviced.
