Summary of Safety Guidelines

Safety guidelines are rules and measures taken especially by road users to prevent them from being killed or harmed.

A pedestrian is anybody walking on the street or along the road i.e., a person travelling on foot rather than travelling in a vehicle.

Safety guidelines for pedestrians as well as Facilities for Pedestrian Safety have been fully discussed in this chapter.

A cyclist is a person who rides either a bicycle, motorcycle or a tricycle on a major road as a means of transportation. This chapter also treat safety guidelines for cyclist.
