2.         Setting and Marking-Out Tools

Marking-out tools are used to indicating points or positions, while setting-out tools are used to set surfaces and edges at angles. Examples include the following:

i. Carpenter’s Square: This is an L-shaped steel blade used for constructing frames for windows and doors by carpenters.

ii. Try-square: The try-square is used for testing the squareness of a surface at 900.
