Method of Processing Plastics
Raw plastic pellets can be processed using different methods, the choice of method depends on the plastic product to be made and its use. Some methods of production of plastic include:
1. Injection moulding
2. Compression moulding
3. Extrusion moulding
4. Calendering.
5. Vacuum mould
1. Injection moulding: The most commonly used manufacturing process for the fabrication of plastic parts is injection moulding. A wide variety of products are manufactured using injection moulding. The injection moulding process requires the use of raw plastic material, a mold, and an injection moulding machine. The plastic is melted in the injection moulding machine and then injected into the mold, where it cools and solidifies into the final part.
