Maintenance of Simple Garden Tools
The following are ways of maintaining simple farm tools so they could last long.
- Tools should be used for the right job for which they are made
- Tools should be cleaned immediately after use and stored away from sun and rain
- Tools with cutting edge should be sharpened regularly, using a sharpening stone or file.
- Handles of hoes, pick-axes and mattocks should be regularly checked to ensure that the blades or heads are secure; and the handles should be replaced when damaged.
- Tools should be washed and dried after use.
