Forms of Energy

There are different forms of energy.

  1. Chemical energy: This is the energy contained in food substances, petrol, diesel, kerosene, coal etc.
    1. Mechanical energy: This is the energy of an object due to its motion or position. motion and position. Mechanical energy is divided into kinetic or motion energy and potential or place energy.
  2. Kinetic Energy is the type of energy possessed by a body in motion. Examples are football in motion, running car etc.
  3. Potential Energy is the energy possessed due to position of an object. examples are book on a desk, water bottle on the floor etc.
