Forms of Database
Database forms are ways by which database can be arranged to make it easier to understand by the end user. There are four main forms of database management systems and they are based on the management of database structures. They are as follows:
- Hierarchical database model: This was the first database model to be created. It was created in 1960. The hierarchical database model arranges data in a tree-like form like an organogram. The structure allows representing information using parent/child relationships: each parent can have many children, but each child has only one parent. All attributes of a specific record are listed under an entity type.
