Orthographic projections are working drawings. They are used to construct or manufacture the object that has been drawn. For this reason, orthographic projections must include accurate dimensions (measurements) that are clear and easy to understand. We must draw dimensions in a particular way as shown here.

NB: The lines with arrows are the dimension lines. The lines that bound the dimension lines are the extension lines.
