Data Processing Cycle
This is a series of steps carried out to transform data into useful information. The following are the stages involved in processing data:
- Data gathering stage: At this stage, data is gathered through various ways such as asking questions observations, reading books, listening and watching electronic media (radio and television). For example, giving a prospective customer a form to fill before opening a bank account is a form of data gathering. Data gathering is the process of searching and collecting information to be processed anywhere it is available e.g. collecting students’ test and exam scores.
