Alloys of Metals

An alloy is the mixture of two or more metals to form a new metal. There are two types of alloys, namely ferrous and non-ferrous alloys.

  • Ferrous alloys: Ferrous alloys are the mixtures of two or more ferrous metals. Example include carbon + steel + tungsten = high speed steel.

(ii)       Non-ferrous alloys: This is the mixture of two or more non- ferrous metals to form another product. Examples are:
