Uses of Ferrous Alloys
- Steel: Steel is the mixture of iron and carbon. It is used for making automobile bodies, tools, screws and nails.
- Nichrome: This is the composition of nickel, iron and chromium. It can be used to manufacture electrical resistance wire. E.g. Ring boiler.
- Stainless steel: It is the mixture of iron + chromium + carbon + nickel. Stainless steel does not rust and can be used for food processing and for storing chemical.
