SUMMARY
Drug is a chemical substance used in the treatment, cure, prevention, or diagnosis of disease or used to otherwise enhance physical or mental wellbeing.
There are basically two types of drugs, which are: Naturally occurring drugs and Synthetic or man-made drugs.
Synthetic drugs are further classified into Hard drugs and Essential drug.
Drugs are derived from plants, animals and minerals.
Uses of drugs have been discussed in this chapter.
Drug abuse is the indiscriminate use of drugs without doctor’s prescription or the taking of medically prescribed drugs inappropriately.
